This is your chance to help create one of our city’s famed murals. Philly @ the Movies: Disney’s “Frozen” When: Monday, June 30, 9 p.m.  Where: Franklin Square9pm Kids of all ages are invited out for a screening of the biggest children’s movie of all time. They’ll also get to enjoy mini golf, free giveaways & carousel rides. Go 4th & Learn About: Fitness When: Tuesday, July 1, 10 a.m.  Where: Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse Break a sweat at the 6.5 acre playground, which includes the Ann Newman Giant Wooden Slide and more than 50 unique, age-appropriate and accessible pieces of play equipment. The First 200 kids will receive a free book! Philadelphia Orchestra Neighborhood Concert When: Tuesday, July 1, 8 p.m.  Where: Penn’s Landing – The Great Plaza The Philadelphia Orchestra returns for its seventh summer to the RiverStage at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing. This FREE concert brings the world-renowned orchestra to a new, community and audience, celebrating the organization’s commitment to enhancing the vitality of neighborhoods throughout the Philadelphia region. Wawa Hoagie Day When: Wednesday, July 2, noon Where: Independence Mall Celebrate Life, Liberty &the Pursuit of Deliciousness with 4.5 tons worth of hoagies served free to thousands. Celebration of Freedom Ceremony When: Friday, July 4, 10 a.m. Where: Steps of Independence Hall, 6th & Chestnut Streets Pay tribute to our great nation at the Celebration of Freedom Ceremony featuring music, inspiring remarks, and a reading of excerpts from the Declaration of Independence – among other special elements. This year’s ceremony will recognize the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the 60th anniversary of the Brown vs. Board Supreme Court decision.  Philadelphia Independence Day Parade When: Friday, July 4, 11 a.m. – 12: 30 p.m. Where: Throughout Historic Philadelphia Witness more than 5,000 participants as they celebrate America’s birthday by marching through the nation’s most historic square mile. Party On The Parkway When: Friday, July 4, Noon – 7 p.m. Where: Benjamin Franklin Parkway, 20th Street to Eakins Oval Philly really knows how to throw a party! America’s birthday continues with blocks and blocks of exciting activates, multiple music stages, games and food. Philly 4th of July Jam & Fireworks When: Friday, July 4, 7 – 11 p.m. Where: Benjamin Franklin Parkway, 20th Street to Eakins Oval  The “Largest Free Concert in America,” will rock the Parkway as The Roots, Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Hudson, Aloe Blacc, and Ariana Grande, along with Vicci Martinez, take the stage followed by an amazing fireworks display over the Philadelphia Museum of Art.last_img
