YouTubeKyle Ford, a five-star wide receiver out of Orange, California, will play in tomorrow’s All-American Bowl in San Antonio. While there, he’s set to announce his long-awaited college decision.Ford is one of two five-star receivers to decide at the game, along with No. 1 ranked WR Jadon Haselwood.Kyle Ford’s top five features Colorado, Michigan, Oregon, USC, and Washington.Michigan was an interesting inclusion given the Pac-12 focus of the rest of the group. After some staff shake-up, the Wolverines have a lot of ground to make up.Last month, he discussed Jim McElwain’s departure to Central Michigan, as well as Mike MacIntyre’s firing from Colorado as things that impacted those two schools in his top five. The Wolverines and Buffaloes were clearly impacted by those moves, though perceived leader USC also featured major staff upheaval. From 247Sports:“It has been tough with some of the coaching changes,” Ford said. “Colorado fired their head coach so I’m not sure what’s going to happen there with the rest of the staff. Jim McElwain, who was the WR coach at Michigan took the head job at Central Michigan and Tee Martin, who was my main recruiter at USC was let go as well.“So I’m just going to take my time and not rush my decision. I always planned on committing at the All-American Game January 5th but if I need more time, I’ll wait to announce until I’m 100% ready. I think I’ll be ready by then but I have one more official visit to take and then I’ll see where things are at by then.”During that early December interview, he mentioned being excited to meet Kliff Kingsbury. The newly-minted USC head coach is expected to interview for NFL jobs, however, which could also throw a wrench into things.Still, the Trojans have 95-percent of the predictions in the crystal ball, and seem to have the momentum here. We’ll find out if Clay Helton picks up this massive recruiting win during tomorrow’s game.
